STEP 18 - HAIR CARE

Essential Oils are also great for natural HAIR CARE options.

They can help soothe dry scalps, reduce dandruff, reduce oiliness, even help support dry, brittle hair.

And the great thing about making your own hair care products is that you can adjust the Essential Oils to suit your hair’s specific needs.

Get out your ESSENTIALS KIT and try these recipes.

SASSY MANE SHAMPOO RECIPE

• 1/4 c. Castile Soap

• Distilled Water

• 8 tbsp. Aloe Vera Gel

• 10 drops Essential Oils for hair type (see below for suggestions)

Store in a glass bottle or Essential Oil-Grade plastic bottle. Shake well before each use. Use a dime-size amount, lather, and rinse as normal.

NOT A DROP DRY SHAMPOO RECIPE – FOR LIGHT HAIR

• 1/4 c. Arrowroot Powder

• 10 drops Essential Oils based on hair type

NOT A DROP DRY SHAMPOO RECIPE – FOR DARK HAIR

• 1/4 c. Arrowroot Powder

• 2 tbsp. Cinnamon or Organic Cocoa Powder

• 10 drops Essential Oils based on hair type

ESSENTIAL OILS TO USE BASED ON HAIR TYPE

DRY OR FRAGILE HAIR

• Lavender Essential Oil

• TIP: adding 1/2 tsp. Sweet Almond Oil to the above recipe will give added hydration

OILY OR GREASY HAIR

• Lemon Essential Oil

• Melaleuca Essential Oil

REDUCE DANDRUFF

• Lavender Essential Oil

• Melaleuca Essential Oil

DRY OR ITCHING SCALP

• Lavender Essential Oil

• Peppermint Essential Oil
